I would like to say thank you for everything you did even though you were unable to help us due to another company’s incompetence and what I would consider lawless action. Even though your company wasn’t officially involved in the sale of my wife’s annuities, in all the times that either I or Ms.R called you for advice, you took the time and effort to ensure that this very difficult time that we had to go through wasn’t as bad.

I can say unequivocally that I’ll be forever grateful to Patriot and especially Nancey, my account executive, guide and sidekick, for helping me pry a settlement agreement from a stubborn insurance company. The money I received will pay for my 93- year – old mother’s nursing home care.

A few years ago on the advice of a “trusted” financial adviser, I purchased an annuity that paid a monthly sum for the rest of my mother’s life. I hadn't read the fine print and didn't realize what an inappropriate product it was until last summer when it was clear she was going to need more money to pay for her care. I needed a lump sum payment.

Based on TV ads I'd seen ("It's your money..."), I called a settlement company. I was passed around to several customer service people who were always in a hurry. When the insurance company started to play rough and refuse to cooperate, those folks dropped me fast. It wasn't going to be easy enough for them, I guess

Meanwhile, with the help of the Florida Department of Financial Service, I was notified that the insurance company would make the change in ownership to facilitate the lump sum settlement. That's where Patriot and Nancey came in.

After all the paperwork with I’s dotted and T’s crossed was submitted, the insurance company delayed as long as possible despite phone calls and emails. As Christmas approached, I think even Nancey had a moment of doubt, but late Friday afternoon on Dec. 21st, I received the email, “we have complied with your request.”

Nancey had already left the office, but I had a jubilant conversation with Neil. It was nice to know the boss was so involved in the process as well.

Nancey, upon her return, was practically happier for me than I was! After another delay, the insurance company finally signed off on the change, and the money was wired to the bank in no time.

A huge relief! I couldn't have done it without Nancey and Patriot.
